March 25, 2026: Bethany gave her first oral presentation entitled "Kinetetics of Plasma Treatment for Biopolymer Surface Modification" at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society.


September 25, 2025: Bethany presented a poster entitled "Plasma Diagnostics for the Modification of Naturally Derived Biopolymers" at the 2025 American Vacuum Society International Symposium. She was awarded the Platinum Award for the Undergraduate Poster Session and the 3rd Place Poster Award for the Biointerphases division!


August 19, 2025: Bethany presented a poster entitled "Plasma Diagnostics for the Modification of Chitosan for use in Biomedical Devices" at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society.


August 18, 2025: Dr. Blechle gave an invited talk entitled "Utilizing Optical Diagnostics to Explore Mechanisms of the Plasma-Surface Interface" in the Mentoring Undergraduate Surface Science Research Symposium at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society.


March 25, 2025: Mollie and Bethany presented a poster entitled "Modification of Silk Fibroin Using Plasma-Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition with Small and Large Molecules" at the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society.


November 07, 2024: Bethany and Mollie presented a poster entitled "Optimizing Plasma Conditions for the Modification of Silk Fibroin Using Small and Large Molecule Precursors" at the 2024 American Vacuum Society International Symposium. They were awarded the Gold Award at the Undergraduate Poster Session!


November 09, 2023: Mollie and Bethany presented a poster entitled "Gas-Phase Analysis of Plasma-Enhanced Modification of Silk Films" at the 2023 American Vacuum Society International Symposium. They were awarded the Platinum Award at the Undergraduate Poster Session!
